At the heart of my work is a simple belief: life is both beautiful and challenging, and we’re meant to engage fully with both. As a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and owner of Summit & Flow Counseling and Mental Performance Center LLC, my goal is to help people build resilience, reconnect with their values, and move toward a life that feels meaningful and alive.

Before becoming a counselor, I was a collegiate basketball player, coach, and construction worker. Those experiences taught me the grit of performance and the ache of feeling stuck when “working harder” no longer works. I bring that understanding into every session, meeting clients where they are, not with judgment, but with curiosity and care.I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), using mindfulness, values, and evidence-based strategies to help clients gain clarity, flexibility, and purpose. I earned my M.S. in Clinical Counseling from Charleston Southern University and hold dual B.S. degrees from Penn State.

Rooted in my Christian faith, I strive to embody humility, perseverance, and compassion in the work I do, integrating spirituality when clients desire it.

Jennifer Armstrong is an LPC-A who graduated from Charleston Southern University with an undergraduate degree (2021) in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice and a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling (2025). She is a military wife, has two small boys and two cats.

Jennifer believes everyone has a story to tell and recognizes that everyone has experiences that dictate who they are. Those experiences may be complex or simple, yet they still have an impact. She passionately believes in helping people understand their thought patterns and emotions caused by life experiences. Jennifer provides a calm safe place for those who want healing and understanding or just a place to share. She is trained in EMDR and Trauma-Focused CBT which are evidence-based treatments for trauma.

Annabelle Hollingsworth is a clinical counseling student at Charleston Southern University who will graduate in May 2027. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Montreat College in 2024 with a Major in Psychology and a Minor in Music. Annabelle strives to integrate her Christian faith into every aspect of her life and desires to let this inform her practice. Whether working with children, families, or adults, she approaches everyone as unique, capable of healing, and able to develop healthy attachment patterns and emotions. Annabelle provides a safe place for clients to be understood, valued, and encouraged to achieve their goals through an attachment and emotion-focused lens.

Mercades James is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling at Charleston Southern University and is in her first year of clinical training. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in American Sign Language from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) in 2024.

Mercades is passionate about walking alongside individuals as they navigate life’s challenges and discover their personal strengths. She believes healing and growth happen when people feel valued, understood, and supported as whole individuals. Mercades incorporates her Christian faith into her counseling approach and strives to create a welcoming environment rooted in compassion, encouragement, and authenticity. She believes every person has the ability to grow and heal at their own pace and within their own unique journey.
